EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – Emma Preissman was a triple winner as the Mustang girls track team won the Atlantic County Track and Field Championships May 4 at Egg Harbor Township High School and the boys team placed second.
Mainland Regional High School’s girls team finished with 210 points, EHT was second with 101, Hammonton third with 57, Atlantic County Tech fourth with 51 and Absegami fifth with 46 in the 11-team field.
EHT’s boys team won with 186.5 points, Mainland was second with 68, Pleasantville third with 63, St. Augustine Prep fourth with 60 and Atlantic City fifth with 50 among the 13 teams competing.

Preissman, a senior, won the 800 meters in 2:21.49, the 1600 meters in 5:16.33 and the 3200 meters in 11:57.35. Teammate Madison Taylor, a senior, was third in the 1600 (5:20.78) and fifth in the 800 (2:26.05) and fellow Mustang Adrian Sykes, a sophomore, was fourth in the 3200 (12:40.89).
Junior Veronika Andreev won the 100 meters in 12.18 seconds with teammate Camryn DeMorat, a senior, in second in 12.22.
DeMorat was second in the 200 meters (26.24 seconds) and Andreev third (26.35). Atlantic Tech’s Brianna Growalt won the race in 24.92 second.
DeMorat won the long jump with a leap of 18’3” and junior teammate Gianna Shea was fifth at 16’9”.
In the high jump, Mustang junior Allie Thomas won by clearing 5’ and Andreev was second at 4’10”.
Andreev also won the triple jump with a distance of 34’10”. Teammates Alaya Steinberg, a sophomore, was second at 34’6.5”, and Allie Thomas, a junior, was third at 34’1”.
Shea won a first place for Mainland as well, clearing 11’ in the pole vault. Teammate Heather Milstead, a junior, was second at 10’ and Mustang Erin Lowry, a sophomore, was fourth at 8’6”.
Junior Lily Molinaro was third in the 400 meters in 1:00.34. Atlantic City’s Taison Parker won in 58.16 seconds.
Steinberg finished third in the 100 hurdles (15.47 seconds) and the 400 hurdles (1:09.60).
The Mainland girls came in second in the 4×800 in 10:21.54; EHT was first in 10:19.65. Mainland was third in the 4×100 (51.86 seconds) and fourth in the 4×400 4:20.51). EHT won the 4×400 in 4:12.33 and Atlantic City won the 4×100 in 51.37 seconds.
Junior Teagan O’Brien was third in the javelin at 93’5”; EHT’s Cecilia Feldstein won at 113’3”.
O’Brien placed fifth in the discus with a throw of 88’5”. Hammonton’s Mitra Sampson won at 124’5”.
Sampson also won the shot put with a throw of 39’. Mustang senior Anayah Usher was second at 33’0.75” and freshman teammate Nola Person third at 29’3.5”.
Mustang boys medal
The Mainland boys track and field team didn’t win any individual events, but had a number of high placements.
Sophomore Jack Preissman was second in the 1600 meters in 4:38.14, just less than two seconds behind winner Braden Bernardini of Prep (4:36.18).
Preissman was fifth in the 800 meters in 2:04.61. EHT’s Daniel Svec won in 2:01.33.
Senior Jackson Larimer was second in the pole vault, clearing 13’. EHT’s Sawyer Schmidt won at 13’6”. Fellow Mustang Geoffrey Lovett, a junior, was fifth at 11’ and another junior, Kieran Kummings, was sixth at 10’6.
Kummings was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.41 seconds. Atlantic City’s Isaiah Wilson won in 14.6 seconds. Kummings was seventh in the 400 hurdles in 1:03.72. EHT’s Xavier Aucule won in 56.6 seconds.
Junior Dallas Rowell finished second in the long jump, a quarter-inch out of first place. He leapt 22’10.25”. Pleasantville’s Raliel Wiggins won at 22’10.5”.
Rowell was fourth in the triple jump at 43’5.5” and teammate Zyon Gales, a sophomore, was fifth at 41’10.5”. Absegami’s Quadir Epps won at 44’11”.
Senior Brady Kallen was second in the javelin with a throw of 147’5”. EHT’s Andrew Ollek won at 153’2”. Teammate Andre Voermans, a freshman, was fourth at 138’4”.
The boys 4×800 team was third in 9:18.15. EHT won in 9:08.11.
Mustang sophomore Dan Vick was fourth in the discus with a throw of 120’1”. Cedar Creek’s Giovanni Carnes won at 130’5”.
Junior Eban Kuhns was fourth in the shot put at 40’11.5”. EHT’s Jack Stetser won at 47’11”.
Senior Brody Miller was fifth in the 3200 meters in 10:24.22. EHT’s Matthew Reed won in 10:03.78.
Mainland sophomore Liam Geary was fifth in the 400 meters in 51.77 seconds. Prep senior Marc Maccario won in 49.45 seconds.
