Vincent Anthony Joseph Evangelista, Jr. 85

Vincent Anthony Joseph Evangelista, Jr., 85, of Cape Coral, FL, son of longtime Vineland band director Vincent Evangelista, Sr., passed away on May 13, 2024.  

Vince was born in Ocean City, graduated from Ocean City High School in 1956 and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Miami.

Vince (known musically as Vince Evans) performed with his father’s Vineland band growing up and had a passion for jazz music that led him to a prolific career as a bass player and singer for over 60 years in New Jersey, Columbus, Ohio, and Southwest Florida.

Vince is survived by his loving wife Barbara of over 55 years, sons Tim (Susan), Tom (Michele), Andrew (Mary Ellen), James (Donna), grandchildren Amanda Sosa (Carlos), AJ, Ellen, Daniel, Natalie Walls, Luke, and great-grandson Evan Stahl. He was predeceased by his sisters Antoinette (Tony) Hunter, Marion Town, Elsie Welch, and grandson Ryan.
