Trail of Two Cities

OCEAN CITY – The fastest, a pair of teenagers, completed the Trail of Two Cities run in under 20 minutes Saturday morning, Nov. 1.

Jeffrey Taccarino Jr., 16, won in a time of 19:09.48, with Jameson Foreman, 13, right behind in 19:10.97. The slowest among the hundreds of people who took part in the annual run/walk across the Route 52 causeway from Ocean City to John F. Kennedy Park in Somers Point took about an extra hour, but they weren’t in it for the race.

All were able to enjoy chilly temperatures on a sunny, clear morning in an event that links the two communities and provides beautiful views of Ocean City and Somers Point and the bay in-between.

Among the runners were local resident Stephanie Hauck, pushing her daughter in a carriage; Abbey Sangmeister had hers on her back and – judging from the smile – enjoying the ride; Liz Wright and Cathy Wright of Ocean City; Richard Kader and Dawn Gadon of Somers Point; Chris Harris of Ocean City with his dog; and Andrea Steinberg and Angela Harrison of Linwood.
