Robert L. Colman

Robert L. Colman, 75, died January 6, 2021, after an intense battle encompassing nine surgeries and nine weeks in ICU at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.  He was born May 19, 1945 in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of Lewis and Gertrude (Towell) Colman.

Bob graduated from Tenafly High School, NJ, Class of 1963.  Following graduation he went on to graduate from Bates College and then earned a law degree from Vanderbilt Law School and an MBA from Wharton School of Business.

Bob began his career with Ford Motor Company before moving on to a successful 25 year career with General Electric.  He retired from the position of EVP, Human Resources for Delta Airlines to travel the world with his wife Carol, the love of his life.

He and Carol lived in Ocean City, NJ,  Mt. Crested Butte, CO  and Isle of Palms, SC.  They celebrated the anniversary of their long and beautiful marriage in December.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Carol (Meyer) Colman, are his sister Susan (David) Serluco of Decatur, GA; his daughter, Tracey (Ed) Hernandez of Atlanta, GA;  his son Kevin (Maria) Colman of Doylestown, PA;  his daughter Courtney (Scott) Foster of Doylestown, PA; his son Corey (Courtney) Colman of Mt. Pleasant, SC and 10 amazing grandchildren that he adored and they adored him in kind.

A celebration of life will be planned when it is again safe to gather.  Those who wish to remember Bob in a special way,  may donate to the Humane Society of Ocean City (1 Shelter Rd. POB 1254, Ocean City NJ or HSOCNJ.org) to honor his love of dogs, including his dog Lexi and his 11 granddogs.
