Red Raider boys, girls win DMR races at Woodbury Relays

WOODBURY – Ocean City’s boys and girls distance medley team both finished first in Division 3 at the Woodbury Relays over the weekend and posted the fastest times at the meet.

For the boys, it was Nate Aschmann, Jude Govern, Keenan Neuman and Erik Preisner winning in 10:28.12. 

Their time was the fastest of all the groups at the meet, according to boys head coach Matt Purdue.

For the girls, it was Lillian Flora, Alana Clevenger, Peighton Clemens and Carly Godfrey posting a time of 12:22.97 for the win, according to Tim Cook, the OCHS girls head coach.

At the Woodbury Relays over the weekend, the Ocean City High School boys and girls won the distance medley relays in Division 3. At top, the boys are Nate Aschmann, Jude Govern, Keenan Neuman and Erik Preisner. Above, the girls are Lillian Flora, Peighton Clemens, Alana Clevenger and Carly Godfrey with coach Tim Cook.

The girls also finished second in the 4×200 relay and 4×800 relay. The 4×200 finished in 1:45.21 and featured Clevenger, Ella Miller, Sophia Pratt and Kai Linthicum.

The 4×800 had a time of 9:51.94 with runners Flora, Clemens, Gabby Henry and Godfrey.

The 4×100 relay  was third in 49.88 and the 4×100 shuttle hurdle relay was fourth in 1:19.92.

Callie Duff was fourth in the high jump, clearing 5’. Gianna Endicott was eighth in the discus with her throw of 103’10”.

The boys 4×800 relay team with Nevin Millstein, Aschmann, Neuman and Preisner was second in 8:00.57.

Ryan Jefferson, Hayden Tarves and Ben McCarthy finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Their times were 10:13.31, 10:19.37 and 10:26.09.

Gavin Taylor and Garrett Simpson were fourth and sixth, respectively, in the javelin. Taylor threw 163’4” and Sampson 152’. Sampson was 19th in the shotput with his distance of 39’9”.

In the 4×110 hurdle relay, Colin Berich, Louis Gracia, Lukas Tuthill and Sampson were fifth in 1:19.12.

The Red Raiders were seventh in the 4×100 relay in 44.69 seconds and 12th in the 4×200 in 1:39.18.
