OCEAN CITY — The stunning beachfront home at 2900 Wesley Ave. in the island popular Goldcoast section is fantastic both inside and outside.

The 2,300-square-foot, multilevel home offers five bedrooms and three bathrooms with an upside-down design that provides sweeping beach and ocean views from the main living areas.

Located at the end of Wesley Avenue at 29th Street, the home is shielded by a line of evergreen trees that create a shady, welcoming entrance.

“The location provides exceptional ocean views and a panoramic view of the shoreline,” listing agent Debbie Tordella said.

There also is access through the two-car garage just off the alley in the rear, where there is a paver brick and concrete parking pad large enough for two more cars.

Off 29th Street, the entry foyer features a stacked-stone wall stretching all the wall to the roofline and an open staircase. White walls contrast nicely with the natural woods throughout the home.

Down the hall to the right are the garage and laundry room, which features a full-size washer and dryer, a utility sink, cabinets, refrigerator and the on-demand hot water system. There is a full cabana bath in the garage.

Back in the foyer, a half-flight of wood stairs with a carpet inlay ascends to the second level, where the primary bedroom is located on the ocean side to take advantage of the incredible views.

Featuring wall-to-wall carpeting and a king-size bed, the suite has an entire wall of windows in a curve alcove. A sliding glass door opens onto the covered back deck, where the lucky new owners will be able to great the day with a view of the sun rising over the sea.

A spiral staircase descends to a paver patio and grassy backyard, as well as the ground-floor porch.

The suite’s full bathroom includes a deep Jacuzzi tub and a fiberglass and tile shower with a swinging glass door.

Back on the landing, another half-flight of stairs rises to the third level, where there are three bedrooms and one bathroom.

Just off the stairs, the home’s second bedroom has bunkbeds atop carpeting and a double casement window overlooking 29th Street.

In the back left, the third bedroom has two full-size beds. The third bedroom on this floor has two sets of double windows in the corner, making it light and bright.

Atop another set of stairs is the heart of the home, the living room with its stunning cathedral ceiling. Peaked in the middle, the ceiling features wood planks sloping down toward the sea. A sliding glass door topped by six windows makes the most of the scene outside, where the waves can be seen and heard slapping against the shore.

The spacious room has a large sectional sofa and multiple chairs arranged around a gas log fireplace with a television above.

Up another set of stairs are the dining area and kitchen. The open design and height of this space creates separation without segregation.

“The floor plan allows separation even if the house is full of guests,” Tordella said.

A large wood table that seats eight is on the living room side of the space, while a large counter with can accommodate six more people. Four casement windows line the north wall.

Quartz-topped cabinets wrap around the kitchen, which has stainless-steel Bosch appliances that include a two-door refrigerator with a crisper drawer and a freezer drawer, a microwave above a range/oven and a dishwasher to the right of the stainless-steel sink.

Overhead, exposed beams and ductwork add another modern element to the design.

Down a hall toward the back is the final bedroom suite featuring a total of 10 windows on two sides. It would make for a terrific office or play room for children, but it has a full bathroom and closets so also makes for a quality bedroom.

The bathroom has a tile floor and shower as well as a lighted mirror above the vanity.

Ocean City is one of the most popular shore resorts on the East Coast, featuring a 2.5-mile-long oceanfront boardwalk filled with hundreds of shopping, dining and entertainment venues, as well as miles and miles of pristine beaches. There also is an award-winning downtown business district centered on Asbury Avenue and a watersports district around Third Street on Bay Avenue.

A great location doesn’t only mean beachfront or bayfront on this 8-mile-long island — there are 10 distinct neighborhoods, each with its own characteristics. The Gardens is popular with many for its slow pace, huge beaches and winding, pedestrian-friendly streets. The Riviera, stretching from 16th to 23rd streets along Great Egg Harbor Bay, is a boater’s paradise with many Mediterranean-style homes set right on inland lagoons. The Central neighborhood is bustling with business both downtown and on the boardwalk, while the Southend is narrow with fewer homes and room to stretch out. The Northend contains many of the island’s historic homes and Merion Park, in the south, features wetlands and wildlife along with wonderful sunset views.

The Goldcoast, from 18th to 29th streets, is centrally located between the Northend starting at North Street and the Southend ending at 59th Street.

Movie star and princess of Monaco Grace Kelly spent summers in the family’s Goldcoast home. It was built in 1929 on the corner of Wesley Avenue and 26th Street.
