James A. Schmidt, 91

James “Jim” Schmidt, 91, of Lancaster, formerly of Beesley’s Point and Ocean City, NJ, passed away on August 6, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of Russell and Margaret Schmidt. He shared over 70 years of love and memories with his devoted wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Schmidt.

Jim’s life and legacy revolved around his faith. A member of Calvary Church, his most important decision in life was accepting Christ as his personal Savior. He proudly served in the Navy on the USS Currituck, with tours in the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas.

Jim’s memory will live on in his loving wife, their son, Scott Schmidt, daughters in law, Carol Schmidt and Lori Schmidt, 5 grandchildren, Brandon Schmidt, Krista Lottes, Kendra Kammerer, Becky Brazis, and Casey Schmidt, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by their son, James “Jimmy” Schmidt.
