Claire Elaine Howell, 93

Claire Elaine Howell, age 93 passed away peacefully at Millville Center LTC on Friday, February 7, 2025.

Born in Clermont, NJ. Claire lived in Clermont, Seaville, Ocean View and Palermo. Claire graduated from Middle Township High School in 1950. She retired from the Woodbine Development Center (Woodbine) in 1997. Claire was a member of the Seaville United Methodist Church for 79 years. She was the church’s longest member at her passing. Claire enjoyed singing and was a choir member for most of her years of church membership. Claire and husband Clint belonged to a horse-riding club in Woodbine NJ and enjoyed horseback riding and caring for their horses. Claire enjoyed family gatherings and camping with family and friends. Claire and Clint belonged to an antique car club showing their Model T.

Claire was predeceased by her husband Clinton S., her parents Paul and Henrietta (nee DeVaul) Stephens, her sister Millicent (Viniccio DeLanzo), brother Paul, niece Millicent Field (nee Reese), and great niece Robin Kearney (nee Reese). Survivors include great-niece and nephews David, Melody and Edwin Reese Jr.

Visitation is 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, at the Seaville United Methodist Church, 3100 Shore Road, Seaville, where a memorial service will be from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will be in Seaville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the Godfrey Funeral Home.
