Maryanne L. McGrath, 80 

Maryanne L. McGrath, 80, of Ocean City passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Shore Medical Center of Somers Point, NJ. 

Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was formerly of Wilmington, DE and a resident of Ocean City, NJ for 25 years.

She was a graduate of Notre Dame College in Staten Island, NY class of 1963 where she received her degree in Chemistry. She was a graduate student and chemistry instructor at St. John’s University in Queens NY.

Mrs. McGrath worked as a Chemical Patent Data Analyst for IFI Plenum in Newport, DE

She was a member of the Ocean City Pops where she served as chief financial officer and active member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. McGrath went to the Ocean City Senior Center everyday where she enjoyed playing Mahjong and swimming. She was an extensive traveler visiting over 55 countries with family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband: Thomas McGrath, four children, Mary Schucker-Austin and her husband, Joe Austin, Sr., Ronald Emery McGrath and his wife April McGrath, Barbara Wilde McGrath and her husband Dr. Jeffrey Chen, and Stephanie Frances McGrath. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Emily Schucker, Rachel Schucker, Ethan Schucker, Waverly Chen, Wallis Chen, and Cristopher McGrath. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Sherman McGrath.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Wednesday morning (today), August 3rd at 11 o’clock from St. Frances Cabrini RC Church of St. Damien Parish, Second Street at Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from 9:30 am until the time of mass. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Clermont, NJ.
