EHT man, 20, wanted in Somers Point murder

Prosecutor’s Office searching for man allegedly responsible for shooting at Village Apartments in February

MAYS LANDING – A 20-year-old Egg Harbor Township man has been charged with murder in connection with a Feb. 10 shooting in Somers Point, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspect remained at large Friday morning, July 15.

The Prosecutor’s Office alleges Tyreek Crawford, 20, of EHT, shot and killed Joshua Hannah in the Somers Point Village Apartments, 50 Mays Landing Road, Somers Point.

Two additional charges have also been filed against Crawford related to the investigation: possession of a weapon (firearm) for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a Weapon (firearm).

At approximately 8:27 p.m. Feb. 10, Somers Point Police responded to a 911 call for a shooting within the complex.  A short time thereafter, officers located the victim, Joshua Hannah, suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Prosecutor’s Office. Hannah was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.  An autopsy performed on Hannah determined the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the torso and the manner of death was homicide, the office said.

Crawford has not been arrested, the Prosecutor’s Office announced Friday morning. He is currently a fugitive and wanted for murder.
