Sea&Do: Upcoming events

Spielberg movie

topic at HPSUT

OCEAN VIEW – The Historical Preservation Society of Upper Township (HPSUT) is featuring a program at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, about when Steven Spielberg’s movie company came to Tuckahoe to film part of his new movie.

The meeting will be at the Upper Township Senior and Wellness Center at 1369 Stagecoach Road, Ocean View.

There have been many different Trailers on TV for the soon to be released “Disclosure Day.” In some of those trailers, you see brief moments of a train–car crash.  Those scenes were filmed at the Tuckahoe Train Station and along Route 557, north of Tuckahoe.

Additional scenes were filmed along the streets in and around Tuckahoe. HPSUT Vice President Mike Horan was there every day for the five weeks that they prepped, rehearsed, filmed and cleaned up at the Tuckahoe Train Station. He and his wife, Barb, took almost 450 pictures during that time. The special effects crew took the time to explain to him all of what went into making a car–train crash scene safe and realistic for everyone. He was not allowed to take pictures up close during the actual filming and had to promise not to release his pictures before the movie production was finished.  Please join the HPSUT and see the “Behind the Scenes” of what went on.
