VELMA K. PAWLING

Velma K. Pawling became a spirit at peace with our Lord on Oct. 3, 2023. She was born to Spencer and Mary in Middle Creek, Pa., in 1926. 

Velma married Glen Pawling in 1947 and had three children: Joyce, Ann and Benjamin. Velma will be remembered for her unmatched kindness and her many beautiful quilts.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Spencer (1973) and Mary Kline (1941); husband Glen (2013); daughter Ann Wright (1975); and daughter-in-law Michelle Pawling (2022). 

She is survived by her brother, Dr. William Kline; daughter Joyce Wirpsza (Stanley) and son Benjamin. 

She was loved by her four granddaughters: Laura, Lillian (Michael), Ashley (Jacob) and Julia (Jamie); and two great-grandchildren: Everett and Holden. 

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Nov. 18 at St. John Lutheran Church, 1001 Central Ave. in Ocean City.
