CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Two young men were charged in connection with an incident that reportedly left three people injured in North Wildwood June 22, according to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and North Wildwood Police Chief Katherine Madden.
They announced the arrest of Alpacino Carrero, 20, of Philadelphia, Pa., and a 17-year-old juvenile from West Wildwood,.
Patrol Officers from the North Wildwood Police Department responded to a report of a fight in progress around 1:05 a.m. that day in the area of 13th Avenue and Central Avenue. Officers located and identified three injured adult victims who were transported to Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional for treatment. One of the victims had become unconscious
due to being struck with a bottle, the officials said, who added the suspects fled the scene prior to police arriving.
The arrests came after investigation w by the North Wildwood Police Department Detective Division in coordination with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.
Carrero was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and aggravated assault, second-degree crimes. He was ,processed and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.
The juvenile suspect is facing the same charges along with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, a third-degree crime. He was detained in a juvenile detention facility. On June 23, 2026, additional charges for the juvenile male were filed – robbery, a first-degree crime, and an additional aggravated assault charge.
Sutherland said tere is no ongoing threat to the public and that this investigation remains active and ongoing.

A person convicted of a first-degree crime is subject to a term of imprisonment ranging
