Super Hero Run in Ocean City

It was a gray morning, cold and windy on the boardwalk with threatening skies, but Super Heroes don’t fear the rain. Wonder Woman, Spider Man, the Hulk and others braved the blah elements Saturday morning to test themselves in the one-mile Super Hero Run that took them from the Music Pier north and back – and back and forth again.

Above, Wonder Woman, otherwise known as Savanna Carelse, 8, of Ocean City, breaks through a (cardboard) brick wall in a children’s obstacle course after the run. Savanna also was the fastest female in the one-mile race. At top, the Southard family of Ocean City runs together. That’s mom Allison, dad Michael and son Michael, 4. Two-year-old Madelyn had the luxury of a ride down the boardwalk.
