Spacious Goldcoast condo a fantastic shore getaway, great investment property

OCEAN CITY — With five bedrooms and four full bathrooms, plus a spacious, open great room, the first-floor condominium at 2029 Central Ave. is a fantastic place to gather with friends and family.

The home, which is just two blocks from the island’s pristine Atlantic Ocean beaches, is ideally located for access to everything the city has to offer — the world-famous boardwalk packed with shopping, dining and entertainment offerings; the award-winning downtown shopping district with blocks of unique boutiques; and the bayfront watersports district, offering powerboat and personal watercraft rentals, parasailing and paddleboards.

The area also retains some of the old Ocean City charm in its neighborhood deli, breakfast shop and ice cream parlor just around the corner.

The handsome home — sided in gray cedar-impression siding with white accents and vinyl railings — features a large, covered wrap-around front porch perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or possibly something stronger in the evening after a long day of relaxing on the beach. Wicker furniture offers the perfect vantage point to watch friendly neighbors passing by.

A concrete sidewalk splits the grassy front yard down the middle, leading to the composite steps leading up to the front porch. Mulched beds with seasonal shrubs flank the stairs and wrap around the left side, where another concrete walk leads to the main entrance.

While the home has curb appeal aplenty, it also is cute out back, where the parking pads for each unit of the duplex are separated by a grassy plot with more shrubs.

A solid-wood door with a half-circle window and side panels opens onto a shared foyer, offering access to the garage as well as a full bathroom for each unit.

A staircase featuring oak treads and white risers mimics the banister, ascending to a landing with access directly into the home.

The door opens onto an interior landing with a bird’s-eye view of the great room spread out below. A coat closet with double bi-fold doors is straight ahead and more stairs lead left to the top level, where there are five bedrooms, two bathrooms and a laundry room.

Three steps down is the great room with a 9-foot ceiling and numerous windows to let the sun shine in. There also is a double sliding-glass door opening onto the front porch.

Narrow-plank hardwood flooring stretches throughout the first level, with the living room to one side and the kitchen and dining area to the other.

The focal point of the living room is the gas fireplace with a tile and wood surround featuring dentil molding. Two tall windows with transoms flank the fireplace, which has a wall-mounted television above.

Across the room, the kitchen and dining area take up about two-thirds of the space.

The dining area features a long wood table that seats six in a cozy corner nook with seven windows in all. It’s just steps away from the kitchen, where a huge granite-topped island with three stools offers more seating. The custom-built china white cabinets have self-close, soft-close doors and drawers and chrome pulls, making for a crisp, clean look. Starting from the left, stainless-steel Frigidaire Gallery appliances include a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, a four-burner gas range with a center griddle and microwave above, and a dishwasher to the right of the wide stainless-steel sink.

Atop the stairs is a hall with wall-to-wall carpeting leading left and right. Straight ahead is a laundry closet with a full-size Whirlpool washer and dryer.

Turning left leads to the master bedroom with hardwood flooring, a queen-size bed flanked by windows and a large closet with double bi-fold doors. The master bathroom has a granite-topped wood vanity with six drawers beneath a wide mirror and a one-piece fiberglass tub/shower with a curtain.

Headed down the hall in the other direction, a full bathroom is on the left. It features a tile floor, granite-topped vanity and glass-enclosed shower with a swinging glass door.

Two of the bedrooms have twin beds atop wall-to-wall carpeting.

At the end of the hall are two more bedrooms, each with access to the back porch. One has a queen-size bed and the other one has bunk beds. There also is another hall bathroom, this one with a granite-topped vanity and one-piece fiberglass tub/shower with a curtain.

The home also is a terrific investment property, booking for $5,000 per week at the height of summer.

The 1,824-square-foot home is listed for $1.599 million with Bob Idell of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Fox & Roach Realtors. Call (856) 207-1670 for more information or to set up an appointment to see this wonderful home.
