Rosemarie Blyler, a loving, thoughtful, and generous woman, passed away peacefully with family by her side on August 30, 2026, in Marmora, New Jersey, at the age of 97.
Born on December 18, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rosemarie carried with her throughout her life the warmth, strength, and kindness that would come to define her. She and her twin sister Anneliese (Aunt Hesa) were raised with strong values and a deep appreciation for family, faith, and community. Those qualities remained at the center of everything she did. A Christian by faith, she lived her life with grace, humility, and a sincere concern for others.
Rosemarie graduated from Ocean City High School in 1948, beginning a lifelong connection to the community she loved. After high school she worked at The Flanders and as a telephone operator in town. She was then employed by Helen’s Beauty Salon as a licensed beautician. She and Anneliese were then employed at their family’s business Voss Plumbing Heating and Fuel where she and Anneliese learned and shared appliance technology with customers. Through family and work experiences, she developed the friendly and dependable spirit that would serve her well in every position she held. She later worked for the Ocean City Police Department as a Crossing Guard and also served as a Dispatcher for the Ocean City Rescue Squad. Her dedication to helping others continued when she worked at the Ocean City Music Pier Information Office, and later at the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce. She also spent many years working for the State of New Jersey Department of Tourism and Travel along the Garden State Parkway. Rosemarie loved helping others find their way to enjoy the New Jersey shore. Rosemarie was a skilled seamstress making her children’s clothes for years. She was an avid knitter, cook and host of many large family gatherings. Her chicken fricassee was a family favorite.
Her life was marked by devotion to family and a genuine love for the people around her. Rosemarie especially enjoyed time spent with her family and her neighbors, and she cherished the relationships she built over the years. She was a member of the Rotary Ann Club for many years, where her kindness and steady presence were deeply appreciated. Those who knew her will remember her as a woman who gave of herself freely and who made others feel welcome, valued, and cared for.
Rosemarie was predeceased by her beloved husband, David N. Blyler, Sr., and her twin sister, Anneliese Hoster. She is survived by her six children, Tina Glenn and her late husband William Glenn, Lisa Wilson and her husband John, Greta Liston and her husband Chuck, Nina Perone and her husband Carmen, Davida Wines and her husband Jim, and David Jr and his wife Andrea, as well as her nephew, Paul Hoster and his wife Lizz, her niece, Eiris McCoy (Chris) and nephew, Earl Blyler (Helen), 11 Loving Grandchildren and 17 Loving Great Grandchildren. Her family was a source of great pride and joy throughout her life, and her legacy will continue through the many lives she touched with her love and devotion.
Rosemarie Blyler will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her. Her life was one of service, kindness, and quiet strength, and she leaves behind a lasting example of what it means to live with compassion and purpose. Though she will be dearly missed, her memory will remain a comfort to her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.
A Viewing will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 from 10am until 11am at the St. Peter’s United Methodist Church 501 E. 8th Street, Ocean City, NJ 08226. A Service will follow at 11am. Burial will be held at Seaside Cemetery.
