Phillie Phanatic at Ocean City 34th Street event Aug. 26

OCEAN CITY – With the Phillies out on the West Coast, the Phanatic will escape to the shore and help Ocean City celebrate the season finale of its new 34th Street Sandcastle Park Summer Entertainment Series from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Families are invited to wear their Phillies gear for “Phillies Week” at Sandcastle Park (3400 block between West Avenue and Asbury Avenue). In addition to the antics of the madcap mascot, the fun will include a DJ, face-painting, a balloon artist and more.

The series was introduced this summer to bring weekly entertainment to the 34th Street gateway, and it has been a popular addition to Ocean City’s calendar of special events. Wednesday’s “Phillies Week” will be the final event of the summer series.
