Patricia B. Crowley passed away peacefully on October 31, 2026, at the age of 85.
Pat was born on March 17, 1941 to John and Marie Bayne in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia. She graduated from Hallahan High School in 1959 and went on to work for Bell Telephone for 30 years.
On November 20, 1967, Pat married the love of her life and her best friend, John “Jack” Crowley. The two shared a very special bond and were happiest spending time together. They spent many summers vacationing in Ocean City, New Jersey, a place they loved so much that they made it their permanent home in 1990. Pat and Jack shared nearly 30 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in May 1997.
Pat took great pride in being part of the Ocean City community. Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life, reflected in her devotion to St. Damien Parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Sacristan, and Catechist. She was also a member of the Ecumenical Council of Ocean City, volunteering at the Food Cupboard and Clothes Closet.
Pat’s dedication to her community extended to her involvement with the Shore Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered at both the Gift Shop and Thrift Shop.
Outside of her volunteer work, Pat served as President and Treasurer of the Richard Somer Chapter of the Questers. She enjoyed spending time with her many friends, whether hosting weekly Mahjong games at her home or enjoying a Manhattan at two of her favorite local spots, The Doc’s Place and The Crab Trap.
Pat was predeceased by her sister, Mary “Betty” Blackmon, and her brother, John Bayne. She is survived by her sister, Catherine “Kay” Lynch, her cousins, and her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She also leaves behind a wonderful group of friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Pat’s caregiver, Barbara Fairclough, for the kindness and care she provided during the final months of Pat’s life.
Pat will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her kindness, faith, and love for those around her will never be forgotten. Although saying goodbye is never easy, those who loved Pat will forever be grateful to have been part of her life, just as she was such an important part of theirs.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 7th at 11:00 am at St. Augustine’s RC Church of St. Damien Parish, 13th Street at Wesley Avenue, Ocean City, NJ with a visitation from 10:00 am until the time of mass. Burial will follow in Seaside Cemetery, Palermo, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Christian Charity, 350 Bernardsville Road, Mendham, NJ 07945.
