OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City High School boys tennis team is the No. 2 seed in the South Jersey Group III sectional tournament that begins Wednesday.
Mainland Regional is the No. 3 seed. Shawnee holds the top spot.
The Red Raiders will host No. 15 Cherry Hill West and Mainland will host No. 11 Absegami on Thursday in the first round.
Ocean City and Mainland are on the same side of the bracket. If each continues advancing, they could face each other in the semifinals.
The teams split their regular-season matches with Mainland winning the first outing and Ocean City the second.
The Red Raiders have a 12-3 record (8-2 American). Mainland is 13-5 (7-3 American). They are in the Cape-Atlantic League.
Shawnee is 9-8. It competes in the Olympic League.
