Ocean City boys soccer beats EHT 2-1 with overtime goal

OCEAN CITY – The Red Raider boys soccer team held off Egg Harbor Township Tuesday afternoon at the Tennessee Avenue field, beating the Eagles 2-1 in overtime.

The Eagles dominated the first half, making the Raiders play defense for almost the entire 40 minutes, but despite the pressure Ocean City was able to keep EHT off the board.

EHT broke the statement with 29 minutes remaining in the second half with a penalty kick by Gio Bonjiorno.

Five minutes later, Joey Goodman buried a shot from 30 yards out to tie the game at 1-1.

In overtime, Chase Goodman scored the game-winner for the Red Raiders, who are now 4-3-1 on the season. The Eagles fell to 3-5.
