Mary Eileen McGuigan, 95

It is with the heaviest hearts, that we announce the passing of Mary Eileen McGuigan, a loving mother, devoted wife, loving grandmother, cherished sister, and dear friend to many. She departed from this world, at the age of 95, on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at her home in Talbott, Tennessee. 

 Born on March 12, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to parents George Leger and Frances Leger. Mrs. McGuigan led a life of love, compassion, and strength. Her legacy will forever be woven into the lives of those who had the great privilege of knowing her. 

 While attending the University of Pittsburgh, she met the love of her life, James McGuigan.  Following her graduation, Eileen and James were wed. 

 She was a dedicated and nurturing mother, always putting her family’s needs before her own. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone around her feel valued and loved. Her wisdom, warmth, and unwavering support provided a solid foundation for her family to grow and thrive. 

 Mrs. McGuigan was preceded in death by husband James, her parents George and Frances, and her brother George. 

 She is survived by her daughter, Sarah; her sons John (Linda) and James Jr (Anne); Grandchildren, Erin, John Jr, James, Joseph, and Jennifer; and her Great Grandchildren, Hailey, Gavin, Blair, Kyle, and Aaron. 

 A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Pittsburgh PA on September 16, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charity, Guiding Eyes for the Blind. 

We will forever hold our mother’s memory close to our hearts, finding comfort in the love and cherished memories we shared. May her soul find eternal peace.
