John Huber Jr., 84

John Huber, Jr., 84 years old, of Dorothy, NJ  passed away August 6, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Marmora and later resided in Ocean City before moving to Dorothy.

A 1959 graduate of OCHS, he was a member of the Cape May County Rescue Squad in Ocean City, several gunning clubs, Sons of American Legion, boxing team and arm wrestling team. He worked as a gardener and wallscraper  and retired from Ocean City Board of Education in 1997. 

He helped coach the Ocean City Pee Wee football team for several years. His hobbies included hunting, NASCAR, farming, gardening, and vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC. 

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Frances (nee Merlock) and his sister Edna May Todd.

He is survived by his wife Marie, together for 66 years, daughter Marie (Tracy) Migliaccio of Marmora, son John Huber III of Mays Landing, four grandchildren Beth (Benton) Sawrey, Michael Migliaccio, John Huber IV, and Alanna Aquino, and four great grandchildren Greyson and Allie Sawrey, and Sophia and Luna Aquino. 

Visitation will be on Saturday August 17, 2024 from 10 am to 11 am at Godfrey Funeral Home of Palermo, 644 South Shore Road, Palermo, NJ followed by a service at 11:00 and burial in Seaside Cemetery in Palermo, NJ.

 In lieu of flowers, donations to Dorthy Volunteer Fire Company at dorothyfire.org or to Shriners Hospitals for Children at shriners.org would be appreciated.
