John DelCorio

John DelCorio passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2022, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy. John’s impact on those he coached and counseled will surely be remembered long after his passing.

John graduated from Ocean City High School, received his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, served in the Coast Guard, and went on to receive two Masters degrees at Florida State University. He worked for the Division of Youth & Family Services, Middle Township Schools and had a private practice in marriage and family counseling. Upon retirement he continued his lifelong passion of advocacy and support of children on the sidelines of sports fields, dance recitals, and family dinners.

Some of his more obvious accomplishments include being one of the original co-founders of the Upper Township Soccer Association, as well as initiating the before school/after school program for the Middle Township School District.  John will be best known for lending an ear and providing sound advice to anyone in need (And his uncanny knowledge of all things history).

His greatest pleasures were traveling, enjoying delicious food, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events & dance recitals, Sunday football games and time with Tyrone Rolls, whom he considered family. John is survived by his wife, Betty DelCorio, his daughters and son-in-laws Beth (Doug) Leap, Chrissy Booher and Debbie (Oliver) Repenning. But his greatest joys were his 6 grandchildren- Anna, Matthew, & Jonny Leap, Sarah Beth Booher, and Mia & Finn Repenning.

John was preceded in Death by his parents, Anthony (John) & Anna DelCorio and his sister Anna Mae and brother David.

Visitation for John will be on Saturday, September 24, 2022, beginning at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m. both at Church of the Resurrection of Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish, 200 Tuckahoe Road, Marmora, NJ 08223.
