Jean McMillen Houck, age 98, died peacefully on August 16th, 2026 at her assisted living home in Vero Beach, Florida.
Jean was born in Shaker Heights, Ohio. After graduating from Case Western Reserve, Jean worked in retail before moving to Ocean City, New Jersey where she lovingly raised her children with guidance, wisdom, patience and support. While living in Ocean City, Jean was an active member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church where she served on the Vestry and volunteered with several local youth organizations.
After raising her children, Jean spent the majority of her retirement years in Vero Beach, Florida. In Vero Beach, Jean was an active member of Saint Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church and a member of Bent Pine Country Club where she enjoyed playing golf for many years.
Jean is lovingly survived by her children, Sara Jenkins (Joseph Jenkins), William Struckell (Jane Shea), Susan Davis and Sandra McDonald (Michael McDonald). She is also survived by her stepchildren, John Houck and Nancy Booze and six grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, John George Struckell and George Clarence Houck, her step-daughter Deborah Moore, her son-in-law J. Peter Davis, as well as her parents William and Mable McMillen.
A memorial service will be held at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in the fall.
