GTAMA to host bingo fundraiser

TUCKAHOE — The Greater Tuckahoe Area Merchants’ Association is hosting its inaugural Designer Bag Bingo as one of several annual fundraising events to fund its scholarship funds.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, at the Tuckahoe Volunteer Fire Hall on Route 50 in Tuckahoe. Doors open at 6 p.m. and games start at 7 p.m.

There will be 10 games with bags from Michael Kors, Coach, Tory Burch, Kate Spade, Vera Bradley and more. There also will be a 50/50 and Chinese auction with more opportunities to win. Door prizes will be given away between games.

Tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Advance tickets will be available through Feb. 29. To reserve a table of six or more, tickets must be purchased as a group.

Beverages and desserts will be available, and patrons are welcome to bring their own.

This GTAMA has awarded more than $220,000 in scholarships to local students since 1998. Among the scholarships are: the James & Martha Owens Scholarship, the $1,000 Alex and Virginia May Scholarship and other scholarships that go to students already enrolled in college, as well as four other scholarship funds.
