CAROL ANN KEARNEY obituary

Carol Ann Kearney (nee Wolfrom), 81, of Ocean City, passed peacefully December 26, 2023. She grew up in Woodbury, New Jersey, with her parents William G Wolfrom and Edna Doris Wolfrom. 

She spent summers in Ocean City as a child, and when she was a teenager she worked at the Biscayne Hotel and Seaside Baths. 

Carol attended Woodbury High School and went on to Ursinus College, where she met her husband of 59 years, Terry Kearney. 

Carol and Terry lived in Evanston, Illinois; Haddonfield, New Jersey; York, Pennsylvania; Williamsburg, Virginia; and Ocean City, New Jersey. 

Carol earned her Masters degree in American Studies at Penn State University. She was involved in historic preservation in York and Lancaster counties of Pennsylvania. 

Carol was an antiques dealer for several decades and had her own store, The Gingham Whale, on Asbury Avenue for many years. 

Carol served as a trustee for the Ocean City Historical Museum until 2023. She enjoyed supporting the Gift Shop and the summer camps and special events the museum hosted.

Survivors include: Karen Kearney Morris and husband Mark; Katie Kearney Mathew and husband George; brother Bruce Wolfrom (Kathy) of Mickleton, NJ; and sister Deborah Wolfrom Wingate (Tom) of Somers Point, NJ. Carol is survived by two grandsons Daniel Morris and Jacob Morris. Carol was preceded in death by her husband Terry Kearney.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday February 3, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church 11 E. Dawes Ave. Somers Point, NJ 08244.
