Atlantic County: More appointments available for 65+

There were 12 deaths attributed to COVID-19 over the past week in Atlantic County and 698 new cases of the coronavirus as the county closes in on 25,000 total cases and 600 deaths since the pandemic began.

As of Monday, March 29, there have been 24,206 cases and 589 fatalities.

According to the New Jersey Department of Health, 130,277 doses of the coronavirus have been administered in the county.

The Atlantic County Division of Public Health notes it should be easier for New Jersey residents ages 65 and older to get an appointment for a vaccine with the Sam’s Club in Pleasantville and Walmarts in Egg Harbor Township, Hammonton and Mays Landing reserving appointments for people in those age groups.

Daily numbers 

Monday, March 29: There were 85 new cases among 44 males from 2 months to 77 years old and 41 females from 14 to 77 years old.

There were three new cases each in Somers Point and Northfield and one in Linwood.

Other new cases included Egg Harbor Township and Galloway Township (17 each), Atlantic City and Hamilton Township (12 each), Pleasantville (7), Hammonton (5), and Brigantine, Absecon, Margate and Egg Harbor City (2 each).

Sunday, March 28: There were six deaths – a 63-year old Northfield man, three Galloway women ages 67, 75 and 91; two Pleasantville residents, a 56-year-old woman and an 89-year-old man from a long-term care facility. All had pre-existing conditions.

There were 117 new cases among residents including 62 males from 11 months to 79 years old and 55 females from 8 to 75 years old.

There were seven new cases in Northfield, five in Somers Point and two in Linwood.

Other new cases included Egg Harbor Township (26), Galloway Township (230, Hamilton Township (1), Atlantic City (10), Pleasantville (8), Brigantine and Hammonton (5 each), Weymouth Township (4), Absecon (3), Buena Borough and Buena Vista Township (2 each), and one each in Ventnor, Margate, Egg Harbor City and Mullica Township.

Saturday, March 27: There were two deaths – a 57-year-old Egg Harbor Township man and a 61-year-old Galloway man – and 103 new cases among residents from 5 to 84 years old.

There were seven new cases in Northfield, six in Somers Point and three in Linwood.

Other new cases included Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Township (18 each), Hamilton Township (12), Pleasantville (9), Hammonton (7), Absecon and Galloway Township (5 each), Ventnor (4), Brigantine (3), Weymouth Township (2), and one each in Margate, Egg Harbor City, Estell Manor and Buena Vista Township.

Friday, March 26: There were 117 new cases among residents from 2 to 87 years old.

There were seven new cases in Somers Point and two in Northfield.

Other new cases included Egg Harbor Township (24), Galloway Township (18), Hamilton Township (15), Atlantic City (14), Ventnor and Pleasantville (7 each), Buena Vista Township (6), Absecon (5), Folsom and Hammonton (3 each), Brigantine and Mullica Township (2 each), and Egg Harbor City and Buena Borough (1 each).

Thursday, March 25: There were two deaths – a 39-year-old Hamilton Township woman and an 80-year-old Atlantic City man, both of whom had pre-existing conditions. There were 92 new cases among 54 males from 2 to 85 years old and 38 cases among females from 10 months to 64 years old.

Somers Point had five new cases, Linwood had four and Northfield had two.

Other new cases included Galloway Township (18), Hamilton Township (15), Egg Harbor Township (12), Atlantic City (11), Pleasantville (9), Ventnor (4), Hammonton (3), Buena Borough and Mullica Township (2 each) and Brigantine, Margate, Egg Harbor City, Folsom and Buena Vista Township (1 each).

Wednesday, March 24: There was one death, a 74-year-old Hammonton woman from a long-term care facility with pre-existing conditions, and 91 new cases among 52 females from 4 to 78 years old and 39 males from 7 to 86 years old.

There were three new cases each in Linwood and Somers Point.

Other new cases included Atlantic City (19), Egg Harbor Township (16), Galloway Township and Hamilton Township (10 each), Ventnor and Pleasantville (7 each), Egg Harbor City (4), Absecon, Hammonton and Mullica Township (3 each), and Margate, Folsom and Buena Borough (1 each).

Tuesday, March 23: There was one death, a 72-year-old Hamilton Township man with pre-existing conditions and 93 new cases among 55 females from 2 to 84 years old and 38 males from 2 to 72 years old.

There were two new cases in Northfield and one in Somers Point.

Other new cases included Egg Harbor Township (16), Hamilton Township (15), Atlantic City (14), Galloway Township (11), Pleasantville (7), Brigantine and Ventnor (5 each), Absecon (4), Buena Borough, Hammonton and Mullica Township (3 each), and Estell Manor and Weymouth Township (1 each).
