Spectacular views, prime beachfront locations steps away from sand and surf

OCEAN CITY — “Discover your coastal paradise in this beachfront corner townhome with unobstructed ocean views, where light fills every corner,” listing agent Burton Wilkins III said of the fabulous home at 931 Pennlyn Place.

Located on the corner overlooking the boardwalk and beach in the Northend, the blue home with white trim offers four spacious bedrooms and three bathrooms on two levels.

“This home is perfect for both relaxation and entertainment,” Wilkins said.

The property features luxurious landscaping that is both functional and fashionable, blocking the view from those ascending the boardwalk ramp.

“Located in one of the most sought-after areas of Ocean City, this property combines luxury living with the ultimate beach and boardwalk lifestyle,” Wilkins said.

Wood stairs rise to a private entrance on the south side, which has an upside-down design that puts the heart of the home on the highest level.

The door opens into a tile foyer with carpeted steps to the left ascending to the great room, which includes the kitchen, dining area and living room.

The space has wide-plank wood flooring that enhances the aesthetic without making it too dark. A cathedral ceiling slopes down from high up, leaving exposed beams that create the feeling of a chateau.

Two leather sofas are arranged around the wood-burning fireplace, which has a flat-screen television hanging above.

“The beautifully updated living room features an inviting ambiance, complemented by a stylish bar and an open kitchen boasting quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances,” Wilkins said.

Five casement windows on the south side, offering a view of the boardwalk, and a sliding glass door opening onto the beachfront sun porch provide natural light and a cooling sea breeze.

The deck, large enough to accommodate furniture for both dining and relaxing, is the perfect vantage point from which to watch the waves — in the ocean just a clam shell’s toss away and from friends passing by on the boardwalk below.

The dining area, in the section along the stairs, features a large square table that seats eight.

Update recently with quartz counters atop white wood cabinets, the kitchen is a chef’s dream with its abundant working space, numerous storage options and stainless-steel appliance. The include a dishwasher in the peninsula running along the stairs, a five-burner range/oven with a microwave above and a two-door refrigerator with bottom freezer drawer.

A skylight provides natural light to the workspace.

An extension of the kitchen, more cabinets with quartz tops and backsplash stretch along the north wall alongside the dining area, offering two Thor stainless-steel refrigerator drawers and a wine refrigerator.

One of the four bedrooms is on this level, alongside a full bathroom with access from the hall. It has a king-size bed, wall-to-wall carpeting and a double window in the rear.

The other three bedrooms are on the first level, where the primary suite is just off the foyer. Located in the front to take advantage of the view, it has a king-size bed atop carpet, a closet with double bi-fold doors and a slider opening onto a private covered deck. The bath, which can be accessed from the bedroom as well as the small corner office, has a deep Jacuzzi-style tub, corner shower and vanity.

“The primary suite is a true highlight, offering unobstructed views of the ocean and boardwalk — imagine waking up to the sound of waves,” Wilkins said.

Back in the foyer, a hall leads past a laundry closet and linen closet and turn left toward the remaining bedrooms and a full bathroom.

Despite being is such a prime location, parking is never a problem as there is an adjoining gravel lot with space for at least two cars.

The storage garage provides the perfect place to stow away chairs and umbrellas, surfboards, personal watercraft and those ubiquitous electric beach buggies.

Ocean City is one of the most popular shore resorts on the East Coast, featuring a 2.5-mile-long oceanfront boardwalk filled with hundreds of shopping, dining and entertainment venues, as well as miles and miles of pristine beaches. There also is an award-winning downtown business district centered on Asbury Avenue and a watersports district around Third Street on Bay Avenue.

The Northend contains many of the island’s historic homes. It’s heavily residential but there are many mom-and-pop shops and corner cafes that are traditional stops for families for generations.

Extending from North Street to Sixth Street, the Northend is an eclectic blend of single-family, duplex and triplex properties. The boardwalk begins its 2½-mile span here.

The 14-story Gardens Plaza, the tallest structure on the island, sits on the Boardwalk in the very center of the Northend. In addition, it contains the Historic District, from Third to Eighth streets and Ocean Avenue to Central Avenue. Designated as such by Ocean City’s Historic Preservation Commission, the district seeks to maintain the look and feel of classic island architecture.

The home is listed for $3.25 million with Burton Wilkins III of Goldcoast Sotheby’s International Realty. Call (609) 464-2571 or email burton.wilkins3@sothebysrealty.com for more information or to set up a tour of this wonderful home.
