William S. ‘Bill’ Kraft, 92

The loved ones of William “Bill” S. Kraft are sad to share his passing at age 92. Bill passed away at his home in Ocean City, NJ early on Wednesday May 17, 2023.  

Bill was born in Philadelphia, PA the son of Cordelia (Siegfried) and William L Kraft. As a boy he lived in Germantown and Lower Merion, PA. He attended Lower Merion HS and then went on to graduate with a degree in Engineering from Drexel University.

Bill married his Drexel sweetheart, Joan Hoepke and they moved to Ft. Belvoir, VA where Bill served two years in the Army and they welcomed their first two children. After his service, Bill and the family moved first to King of Prussia, PA as Bill began his long career at PECO in Philadelphia, and then finally settling in Gulph Mills, PA. Bill remained at PECO for 37 years before retiring as a Sr. Civil Engineer.

Like his parents before him, Bill shared a love for traveling the world, and along with his wife, they saw over 16 countries during their globetrotting days. River cruises were among the favorite modes of travel. Bill also enjoyed building projects around the home, and working in the yard. He loved tackling crossword puzzles and was an avid reader.

Bill is survived by his wife Joan Hoepke Kraft after 68 years of marriage. They raised four children: Randall (deceased) (& Patty) of Franklinville, NJ, Douglas (& Marianne) of Harleysville, PA, Nancy (& Brian) Wallace of St. Croix, VI, and Robert (& Brenda) of Poway, CA. Bill is also survived by nine grandchildren, Anthony Kraft, Erica Kraft, Christopher Kraft, Kaitlin Kraft, Ryan Wallace, Morgan Wallace, Jenna Wallace, Sara Kraft, and Henry Kraft; and four great grandchildren, Elliott & Macey Imhoff, and Lucas & Sydney Kraft.

His Funeral Service and Interment are private at the convenience of his family.
