Barbara Campbell Borst, 94, of Berwyn, Pa., passed away peacefully at Canterbury, Whitehorse Village, Newtown Square with her family close by on December 30, 2022.
She was born Sept. 30, 1928, at Scotch Hall on Fifth Street in Ocean City. She was the Valedictorian of Ocean City High School Class of 1946. Barbara graduated from William & Mary College in 1950 with a degree in Psychology and was in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, she worked at the Hilton Hotel in New York City before meeting her husband Bob in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Pre-deceased by her mother Jean B. Campbell, father Robert J. Campbell, husband Robert M. Borst, sisters Virginia Campbell, BJ Booth and Ruth Adams.
She is survived by her children Rob Borst (Amy) of Berwyn, Mer-edith Quillman (Scott) of Birchrunville, Allison Overton (John) of Deltona, Fla., and Peter Borst of Wilmington, Del.; grandchildren Travis Quillman (deceased), Ian Quillman, Kelsey Ross, Stephen and Meredith Borst and great-grandson Pierce Quillman; brothers-in-law Vernon Stanton of Jupiter, Fla., and Ted Rodgers of Seattle, Wash., with many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a life-long volunteer, a member of the Mothers of Twins Club, Paoli Hospital Auxiliary – Anthony Wayne Branch, Friends of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, Berwyn United Methodist Church and a P.E.O.
She and her husband Bob worked to develop and expand the Upper Main Line YMCA and were among the original members of Waynesborough Country Club, where she had a hole-in-one on the second hole.
Always a Jersey Shore Girl, she still owned a house in Ocean City, where her family had once owned the Chatterbox, The Wyoming and the Hotel Biscayne. She and her husband traveled around the world and loved to spend time in Isle of Palms, S.C., where they owned a vacation home.
They spent New Year’s Eves with her dear friends in the Poconos and visited family and friends around the country.

The family plans to hold a private memorial service with a celebration of Barbara’s life in late spring 2023.
