Mikenzie L. Helphenstine, 43

Mikenzie Helphenstine, age 43, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family and friends. 

Born in Margate and raised in Ocean City. Mikenzie graduated from Ocean City High in 1997. She went on to attend Towson University graduating in 2001, Mikenzie earned her Masters in Education from Johns Hopkins University in 2004. 

In Ocean City, Mikenzie enjoyed her longtime career as a teacher and coach in multiple sports. Creating a loving, supportive, and positive environment for children was her passion.

Mikenzie is survived by her husband Clint and two children Andi and Kyle. She is also survived by her parents Ed and Jane Custer, mother-in-law Patricia Helphenstine, sister Tiffany Park (Greg) brother Todd Custer (Christie) brother-in-law Chris (Patricia) brother-in-law Pat (Alisha) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. 

A celebration of life for Mikenzie will be on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11:00 am, St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 501 E Eighth St. Ocean City, NJ. 

At Mikenzie’s request and her affection for the Ocean City community, please come casual in your red and white game attire. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Mikenzie Helphenstine Memorial Scholarship Fund at Ocean City High School, 501 Atlantic Ave. Ocean City, NJ 08226.
