Alberta Braun Hostler, 98

Alberta Braun Hostler, 98, passed peacefully on February 6, 2022 – a long life well and lovingly lived. She was the middle daughter of David James and Delilah Lord of Dennisville, NJ. A child of the Great Depression, Alberta graduated from Middle Township High School and subsequently married Dorsey E. Hostler, Jr. who served as an Infantry officer during World War II and Korea. His time in uniform marked their only significant time apart in 66 years of marriage. Dorsey and Alberta established their home and raised their family in Corbin City, NJ, and became pillars of that community and the surrounding neighborhoods. Love of family and community service were the dedicated focus of Alberta’s life – a life punctuated with generous acts of caring kindness and empathetic tears of joy and sorrow for life events in her own family and in the lives of others. Alberta’s presence made the world a brighter and better place for all who knew her – and for many who did not. She was predeceased by her son Dwight Dean in 1976, her husband Dorsey Edward in 2010 and by her daughter, Debbie Dawn in 2017. She is survived by her son Dorsey David “Dutch”, her daughter-in-law Margaret “Megan”, by her grandsons, David Christian Hostler, MD (Jordanna M. Hostler, MD) and Christopher James Hostler, MD (Carol W. Hostler), and by her five great-grandchildren Madeleine, Olivia, James, Cameron and Eleanor. A celebration of Alberta’s life was held Tuesday, February 15th at the Langley-Loveland Funeral Home, Tuckahoe, NJ. A private family interment was held at Head of the River Cemetery, Estell Manor. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution in support of Nine Line Foundation at ninelinefoundation.org.  Memories and condolences can be shared at www.LangleyLovelandFuneralHome.com.
