Carolyn Sellers, 90

Carolyn Elizabeth (née Kline) Sellers, 90, resident of Ocean City, NJ, since 1986, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at The Shores at Wesley Manor, where she had been living since 2006. Born in Drexel Hill, in Upper Darby Township, PA, Carolyn was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and Drexel Institute of Technology, where she met her husband, Robert, following his service in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Prior to starting a family, Carolyn worked at the Link-Belt Company, in Philadelphia. She then lived for many years in Chalfont, PA, working full time as a homemaker raising her family, followed, in 1973, by several years living in Watertown, CT, where her husband worked for Uniroyal. In retirement, Carolyn and “Bob” settled in Ocean City, the Sellers family’s annual summer destination for many years.

Surviving are her children: Craig (Timothy Scheie), of Rochester, NY; Blake (Cristina), of Dallas, TX; Karen (George) Christie, of Foxfire Village, NC; and LeeAnn (William) Sechrest, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; six grandchildren, Samara, Nicholas (fiancée Kelly), Trent, Cary, Chance, and Brandon; and nieces and nephews and their spouses: Alex (Annie) Jervis, Louise (Robert) Santillo, John (Janet) Jervis, Jane (Robert) Groben, Judy (Tom) Weiss, Ralph Shockey; and goddaughter, Judy Kohn.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Elias Sellers, in 2004, after nearly 53 years of marriage; parents, June W. and Jesse G. Kline; in-laws, Maria H. and Elias Sellers; sisters/brothers-in-law, Doris (Robert) Jervis, and Frances (William) Gable; and niece, Margaret Shockey.

The family would like to express our appreciation to the loving staff of The Shores and Journey Hospice, particularly during Carolyn’s end-of-life journey. Due to current restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service and interment will be announced at a later date.
