Man arrested after attempted luring

Allegedly offered juvenile female alcohol in exchange for sex in Sea Isle

SEA ISLE CITY – A Mount Holly man was arrested after allegedly offering to buy alcohol for juveniles in return for sexual favors in Sea Isle City.

On Monday afternoon, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Sea Isle City Police Chief Thomas McQuillen announced the arrest of Sayal Sawaged, 28, of Mount Holly, whom they alleged offered to buy alcohol for juvenile females in exchange for sexual favors. 

The incident occurred about 10 p.m. Friday, July 30.

Sawaged also allegedly attempted to lure a victim into his vehicle and back to his residence.  The victim was able to pull herself away from the suspect and notified nearby officers, Sutherland and McQuillen allege.  Shortly after, Sea Isle City Police apprehended Sawaged.

He was charged with:  2C:13-6a Luring, Enticing Child by Various Means (2nd Degree), 2C:24-4a Endangering the Welfare of Children (3rd Degree), and 2C:12-1a(1) Simple Assault (Disorderly Persons). Sawaged was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.
