Albert F. Halliday

Albert F. Halliday died May 10, 2026.

Born March 22, 1934 in Oaklyn, NJ the beloved son of Albert E. & Agnes Halliday and older brother of Joan Halliday Mullin.

Al was a Graduate of Collingswood High School and shortly after married his lifetime love, Ruth Moore. He started his career at Reliance Insurance Co. Philadelphia, Pa.

Al and Ruth moved to Ocean City NJ in 1966 to join his father in the local insurance business at Chattin-Halliday Insurance Co., subsequently owning and running the agency, before selling it to Bill & Sandy McMahon in 1991. Bill and Al created a relationship and family bond that still lasts today.

Al and Ruth were members of the First Presbyterian church in Ocean City for over 50 years. They set an example for their children and grandchildren, prioritizing their family and faith throughout their lives. He was a vibrant member of the community enjoying his relationships throughout the town. He enjoyed following his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting activities and events, people watching on the boardwalk and traveling with Ruth to visit children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and a little bit of golf.

Survived by his wife of 72 years, Ruth Moore Halliday, children Susan Jamison (Matthew), Kevin Halliday (Viva/Babe), Craig Halliday (Amy), Andrew Halliday (Lorraine) and Scott Halliday (Janie) as well as 18 grandchildren and soon to be 42 great grandchildren.

To all of our friends and family who have supported us through prayer and encourage, we are truly grateful. The outpouring of love for Albert and his family has given us great comfort and strength.

Additionally, the family wants to thank the many compassionate caregivers, therapists and nurses at the Shores of Wesley Manor. Your tenderness and professionalism made Albert’s journey easier. Thank you.

His Funeral Service was held privately by his family.
