OCHS boys track wins sectional title in 4×800

FRANKLINVILLE – The Red Raider boys track team won the 4×800 relay at the South Jersey Group III sectionals over the weekend at Delsea Regional High School and came away with more medals.

Ocean City High School senior Erik Preisner, juniors Nathan Aschmann and Keenan Neuman and sophomore Nevin Millstein combined to win the 4×800 in a time of 7:56.84, about two and a half minutes ahead of second-place Deptford.

Preisner came in second in the 1600 meters in 4:23.76, behind winner Matt Littlehales of Delsea in 4:20.55. Neuman was third in 4:25.45 and Aschmannn fifth in 4:28.47. Mainland’s Jack Preissman was sixth in 4:29.82.

Preisner had another second-place finish in the 3200 meters in 9:29.62, also behind Littlehales, who won in 9:26.79. Aschmann (9:33.74) and Millstein (9:34.91) were fourth and fifth.

Ocean City High School’s girls and boys 4×800 relay teams won their events at the South Jersey Group III sectional meet over the weekend at Delsea Regional High School. The boys team was Erik Preisner, Nathan Aschmann, Nevin Millstein and Keenan Neuman.

Mainland Regional’s Brody Miller was 10th in 10:09.49.

Neuman was fifth in the 800 meters. His time was 1:58.53. Littlehales won in 1:55.41. Preissman was 10th in 2:00.71.

Ocean City sprinter Jude Govern was fifth in the 100-meter and 200-meter races.

His time in the 100 was 10.93 seconds; Deptford’s Johann Hernandez won in 10.51 seconds.

Govern’s time in the 200 was 22.19 seconds. Winslow’s Quayd Hendryx won in 21.37 seconds.

The Red Raider 4×100 team of Govern, juniors Jake Chapman and Cole Garreffi and sophomore Louis Gracia was fifth in 43.67 seconds. Deptford won in 41.76 seconds.

Mainland senior Jackson Larimer tied for third in pole vault clearing 12’. Deptford’s Mason Henry won at 14’.

Mustang Dallas Rowell was fourth in the long jump at 23’0.5”. Winslow’s Andrew Kratee won at 24’1.5”.

Ocean City senior Garrett Sampson was fourth in the javelin, throwing 159’. Mainland senior Brady Kallen was fifth at 146’4”. Cumberland’s Richard Pierce won at 175’7”.

Sampson was fifth in the discus at 129’10”. Highland’s Zi Brockenbrough won at 166’3”.

Mustang sophomore Liam Geary was seventh in the 400 meters in 51.03 seconds. Winslow’s Prince Owusu-Twum won in 48.46 seconds.

Mainland’s Kieran Kummings was 10th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:02.96. Kareem Brown of Deptford won in 53.81 seconds.

Deptford won the team title with 110 points. Winslow was second with 109.5, Delsea third with 74 and Ocean City fourth with 54. Mainland was 12th with 12 points.
