New home, new memories of special summers at the shore with family and friends

OCEAN CITY — The new home at 705 E. Eighth St. provides new opportunities to make memories of spending summer at the shore just a block and a half off the city’s pristine white-sand beaches.

Ocean City is one of the most popular family resorts on the East Coast, featuring an oceanfront boardwalk filled with hundreds of shopping, dining and entertainment venues, as well as miles and miles of pristine beaches.

The beach and boardwalk — 2.5 miles of oceanfront entertainment, restaurants, thrill rides and souvenir shops — get most of the attention in this seaside resort, but the island has much more to offer.

An award-winning downtown stretches from Sixth to 14th streets along Asbury Avenue and has expanded onto other nearby streets, offering more than 100 shops and cafes.

There’s also the popular watersports district around Third Street on Bay Avenue, where the brave can rent powerboats, go parasailing, join the crew of a pirate ship and take a kayak tour of the back bays. Private and party boat fishing tours are also available.

A great location doesn’t only mean beachfront or bayfront on this 8-mile-long island — there are 10 distinct neighborhoods, each with its own characteristics.

The Central neighborhood is bustling with businesses both downtown and on the boardwalk, offering many homes within an easy walk or bike ride of all the attractions.

“This new construction project, brought to you by Surfside Construction, is ready for summer fun, beach days and boardwalk strolls. Located just one block to the beach and boardwalk, right in the center of town, you or your guests can walk or bike to everything that America’s Greatest Family Resort has to offer,” listing agent Doug Grisbaum said.

The first-floor condominium features four comfortable bedrooms and two full bathrooms, along with a spacious living area and welcoming kitchen and dining room.

Front and rear decks provide abundant outdoor space, where sipping a cold drink in between the beach and boardwalk is in order.

There is room for two cars — one on the partially covered concrete drive and another inside the garage, which is pre-wired for an electric car charger. The storage space in the rear offers plenty of room for beach chairs, surfboards and other summer gear.

The duplex offers a private entrance atop the stairs set to the right, off the covered wrap-around porch. A door with a large window, side panels and keypad entry opens onto the living room.

The space, which is bathed in light due to the multiple south-facing windows, has handsome wide-plank flooring, baseboard and crown molding and rounded corners.

It is being sold fully furnished, including a sofa, love seat and two cushy armchairs arranged around the gas fireplace. A large-screen television hangs on the wall above.

To the left, the kitchen features abundant white Medallion cabinets with soft-close, self-close doors and drawers and quartz tops, including a center island with overflow seating.

More cabinets line two walls, where the stainless steel GE Profile appliance package includes a five-burner range/oven with a microwave above, a dishwasher to the left of the deep sink and a two-door refrigerator with freezer drawer.

Set in the front to take advantage of the natural light, the dining area features a long wood table that seats eight beneath a chrome chandelier.

A hallway leads off the living room toward the rear.

The first bedroom is to the left. It has a queen-size bed atop wall-to-wall carpeting.

Across the hall is the shared bathroom, which has a tile floor, quartz-topped Medallion vanity with dual sinks and mirrors and a tub/shower tiled to the ceiling with a curtain. There’s also a convenient linen closet.

On the left, the second bedroom has bunk beds, a single over a double, while the third bedroom has another queen-size bed and a sliding glass door providing access to the rear deck.

A hall leads right to the primary bedroom, which has a king-size bed atop carpet and a strip of clerestory windows arranged to capture the morning light. There’s also a glass door opening onto the rear deck.

The space has a walk-in closet and a private bathroom featuring a tile floor, quartz-topped vanity and huge tiled shower with a glass wall and swinging door.

Out back, a grassy yard is raised and bordered by a wall, to keep it high and dry. There’s also an enclosed outside shower.

Some time slots already have rentals lined up.

The home is sided in gray vinyl with white accents, meaning it’s low-maintenance and always look fresh.

The property is listed for $1.294 million with Doug Grisbaum of Long & Foster Real Estate. Call (609) 335-3801 or email doug@thegrisbaumgroup.com for more information or to set up an appointment to see this wonderful home.
