PETERSBURG — Upper Township officials and employees are busy preparing for the annual 4th of July Celebration at Amanda’s Field.
Upper Township Recreation Secretary Larry Cole said the township is “actively planning and looking to have a great Fourth of July Celebration again this year.”
Gates open at 4 p.m. at the park, located at 1091 Route 50 in the Petersburg section of the township, where the party will continue “until the skies light up with their annual fireworks display,” Cole said.
Deputy Mayor Kim Hayes said the event will include a lot of old favorites such as inflatable games and a dunk tank fundraiser, as well as some new offerings.
The Food Truck Alley will include local establishments that will be serving up summer treats from barbecue to ice cream and pizza to doughnuts.
“We will be having several vendors selling their local crafts and kids toys along with community engagement organizations,” Cole said. “The Kids Zone will be returning as well with entertainment for all ages.”
He said Cape May Entertainment will be providing music all day from three local bands. The Mike Chapman and Steadfast Band will take the stage at 4 p.m., with Twisted Livin following from 5:15 to 6:30 and The Lost Sailors performing at 6:45 p.m.
“When the sun goes down, the skies light up with the new Serpico Pyrotechnics company and its exciting display with both high-altitude as well as low-level fireworks offering a new take on an old classic,” Cole said.
“I’m excited by that, a little different twist,” Hayes said.
