Tuckahoe Transportation Heritage Festival cancelled

TUCKAHOE – The Historical Preservation Society of Upper Township has announced that the 2024 Annual Tuckahoe Transportation Heritage Festival at the Tuckahoe Train Station has unfortunately been cancelled for this year.

The festival has been a partnership event for the past six years with the Historical Preservation Society of Upper Township (HPSUT), the Volunteer Railroader Association Inc. (VRA) and the Cape May Seashore Lines Railroad (CMSL).

The Seashore Lines has other priorities this year, resulting in the cancellation of this festival and, according to the HPSUT, time has run out for any opportunity to reschedule for September.

Not having the Transportation Festival will have a significant impact on both the HPSUT and the VRA fundraising budgets for 2024. The Historical Society is especially disappointed to miss the opportunity to celebrate the 130th year of its 1894 Tuckahoe (Queen Anne) train station.

For information on the upcoming Oct. 5 AppleFest and future membership meeting programs, on the second Tuesday in Oct. and Nov., please see the HPSUT Facebook page, UpperTwpHistory.
