Three cheers for Upper Township’s talented cheerleading squads

PETERSBURG — Mayor Curtis Corson was all smiles Feb. 9 while he handed out proclamations to a couple of dozen young athletes as Township Committee honored Upper Township’s cheerleading squads.

“The Upper Township Varsity Cheerleading Squad demonstrated their infectious energy and enthusiasm by dominating the Island Championship Cheer Competition in Wildwood, earning first place in the varsity category and being crowned Grand Champion overall,” said Committeeman Sam Palombo, who oversees recreation.

The event was Nov. 16, 2025, at the Wildwoods Convention Center.

Varsity squad members are Vivian Becker, Karsyn Belles, Kaleena Cabalo, McKenzie Camp, Emily Costello, Megan Couse, Quinn Crowley, Emmarcie Curran, Miranda DeFazio, Zoey DelBeato, Ashlynn Farrel, Aubrey Germanio, Sophia Giamberardino, Evelyn Grisinger, Morgan Lechner, Zoe Mayfield, Tanner Moeller, Allison Pineo, Vanessa Swayngim, Savannah Tudor and Madisyn Turner.

Also honored were coaches Stepfanie Grisinger, Desiree Devine and Meghan Giamberardino. 

The Upper Township Junior Varsity Cheerleading Squad earned first place as well. 

The girls are Ally Adams, Brynlee Adams, Hadley Blizzard, Emma DeFazio, Harper Garvey, Snow Godfrey, Alana Greger, Riley Kordomenos, Alivia Laielli, Emerson MacNeill, Tru Miloshevsky, Ellie Murphy, Charlytte Ocello, Selena Phillips, Ella Preuhs, Skylar Preuhs, Acey Robinson, Kylie Rosario, Kadence Schallawitz, Riley Schrader, Hazel Shoop, Ellie Simmerman, Mia Trajkovska, Vittoria Tridente, Sophie Wallash and Abigail Young.

Coaches were Amanda Preuhs, April Miloshevsky and Samantha Wallash.

The Upper Township Pee Wee Cheerleading Squad received an honorable mention for its fourth-place finish. The cheerleaders are Felicity Anglada, Riley Bernard, Carley Bossuyt, Mackenzie Brown-Gerber, Helena Butterfield, Brenna Dever, Emma Fagerstrom, Margo Gentilini, Raelin Gillespie, Julianne Haberman, Chloe Kilroy, Jordan Lauer, Addy Mayer, Mia McDevitt, Malani McKinley, Norah Mitchell, Brooklyn Modder, Lizzie Mullen, Ava Perry, Madyn Robinson, Taylor Ruban, Marissa Shone and Nora Zappasodi.

Coaches were Michelle Drewnowski, Bernadette Gentilini, Evelyn Grisinger and Katrina Warren.
