Spacious Goldcoast single relaxing retreat just steps from pristine white beach

OCEAN CITY — With five bedrooms and a wide-open great room in an upside-down design, the spacious home at 3040 Central Ave. is ready for people looking to party.

It’s multilevel design creates a sense of privacy for the bedrooms but brings everyone together in the heart of the home, high above the surf and sand on the beach below.

The 2,700-square-foot home’s handsome exterior features three front porches facing the ocean. Its light-gray cedar-impression siding is complemented by white vinyl railings and columns.

A grassy front yard gives way to mulched beds with seasonal shrubs, while a concrete walk leads up to the composite steps rising to the covered porch. The stacked-stone foundation corners are a nice touch.

The porch has a 9-foot ceiling and is as wide as the home, offering plenty of space for furnishings to both relax and dine al fresco.

A tall black door with a couple of windows and side panels opens into a casual living room, similar to a cabana space on beachfront homes. It serves as both the entrance to the home and an area for those in the lower-level bedrooms to hang out when not at the beach, shopping, strolling the boardwalk or surfing.

There is wide-plank hardwood flooring throughout most of the home, including in this space. A sectional sofa is to the left while a quartz-topped wet bar is to the right. It has a Silhouette Professional beverage cooler and a stainless-steel sink, as well as cabinets with soft-close, self-close doors and drawers. Two windows face front and two flank a wall-mounted TV.

The home’s aesthetic is white walls throughout with black hardware on the doors, including the pocket door that opens onto a hallway leading to the back of the house.

To the right is the first bedroom. It has twin beds and a closet with double swinging solid-wood doors.

Across the hall is a full bathroom. Like all of the bathrooms, it has a quartz-topped Homecrest vanity with his and hers sinks below dual oval mirrors. A pocket door opens onto a private room with a porcelain tub/shower with tile to the ceiling and a curved curtain.

Back in the hall, stairs descend to the oversized one-car garage, where the first stop of the elevator is conveniently located.

A second set of stairs, a short flight with white risers and hardwood treads, ascends to the third level, where there are two more bedrooms and another bath. One bedroom has bunkbeds — a single over a full — and a sliding glass door opening onto the back porch. The other has a full-size bed. There also is elevator access on this level.

A full flight of stairs with a landing midway climbs to the fourth level, where the great room welcomes all guests with its abundance of light and view of the deep blue Atlantic Ocean.

A long wood table that seats eight is off to the right beneath two pendant lights with round wicker shades, while there is more seating in three stools at the center island in the kitchen to the left.

The island and cabinets along two walls are by Medallion Cabinetry and have quartz tops. Stainless-steel GO Monogram appliances include a four-burner range/oven with down-draft exhaust and a hood, an undercounter microwave, beverage cooler and dishwasher, as well as a two-door refrigerator with freezer drawer.

Positioned in the front of the house so as to take advantage of the view, the living room has a sectional sofa arranged around a gas fireplace with a wood mantel. A large flat-screen television hangs above.

Double sliding glass doors open onto the covered front porch, a great place to chill with a cold drink after a long day of vacationing.

Back by the dining area, a short flight of stairs ascends to the fifth level, where a powder room is to the left.

Double bi-fold doors artfully hide the laundry closet, where there is a full-size Maytag washer and dryer and two tankless water heaters.

Around the corner is the fourth bedroom, featuring a queen-size bed, sliding glass door opening onto the back deck and a full bathroom with a basket-weave tile floor and large shower with a swinging glass door.

Back in the hall, a second full flight of stairs ascends to the master suite. A large walk-in closet is to the left and a full bathroom to the right. A shower tiled to the ceiling with an overhead faucet and removable wand is a welcoming respite after a hot day on the strand.

The bed chamber is large and has a king-size bed. Two clerestory windows to the left and right provide natural light, while double swinging glass doors open onto a private front sun porch with the best view in the house.

The property is listed for $2.999 million with William Godfrey of Marr Agency. Call (609) 780-7363 or email wsg@marragency.com for more information or to set up an appointment to see this wonderful home.
