OCEAN CITY – Please join Tabernacle Baptist Church’s fourth Saturday Fellowship Activities in July, August and September.
There will be a canning class at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27. Deadline to register is Wednesday, July 24.
Participants will learn how to can and preserve fruit and vegetables and to can dill pickles and bread and butter Pickles. Cost is $10 per person, including taking home one jar of pickles at the end of class.

Dollar Dog Day
in Sea Isle
SEA ISLE CITY– VFW Post 1963’s Auxiliary will host its 2024 Dollar Dog Day 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, on Post 1963’s front lawn at 301 JFK Boulevard.
During this annual fundraiser, the public can purchase grilled hot dogs, soft drinks and snacks for $1 each. Also, commemorative T-shirts will be sold (while supplies last) and several items will be raffled-off, including a basket of cheer and a variety of autographed sports memorabilia from the Phillies, Flyers, Union, and other Philadelphia-based sports teams.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Auxiliary’s ongoing efforts to support our nation’s veterans and active-duty military members.
‘Funny Thing’ set

MARGATE — Fool Moon Theatre Company is scheduled to perform Stephen Sondheim’s hysterical, nonstop musical farce “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” on July 19-21, 26-28 at the Margate Community Church, 8900 Ventnor Ave. The entrance is on Thurlow Avenue.

SOMERS POINT – Somers Point Fire Department No. 2 is having an all-you-can-eat breakfast with Santa, Christmas in July, from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, July 21.
There will be free face painting to go with pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, coffee and orange juice. Cost is $12 for adults and $5 for kids.
The breakfast is at the fire hall, 20 W. New Jersey Ave., Somers Point.
Friends of the Pops
Annual Luncheon
OCEAN CITY – “Music through the Ages” is the theme of the Friends of the Ocean City Pops Annual Luncheon set for Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Flanders Hotel, 719 E. 11th Street, Ocean City. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
The event continues to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Pops Orchestra, the oldest municipal orchestra in the United States, and will feature Brandon Tomasello, a popular vocalist who will perform selections from Frank Sinatra’s Great American Songbook.

Jersey Tenors with
Pops July 18
OCEAN CITY – The Jersey Tenors will bring an all-new show to the Ocean City Music Pier at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18.
The Jersey Tenors provide an opera/rock mash-up with music from opera classics to groups such as Queen and Elton John and Jersey’s finest like Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, Frank Sinatra, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Kool and the Gang and Whitney Houston.
Tickets are $52 at ocnj.us/boxoffice. Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Ocean City Pops.

Walking Club
OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City Walking Club, formed last summer, invites everybody to join weekly walks on the Ocean City Boardwalk on Friday mornings.
People of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to meet outside the Ocean City Music Pier at 8 a.m. each Friday to walk the length of the Boardwalk. The Ocean City Healthy Living Advisory Council created the group as a way for people to get healthy and meet new friends.
The Boardwalk is 2.45 miles long, and round trip is (4.9 miles). Walks may take about 90 minutes, but participants are welcome to stop at any point along the route. The HLAC asks everybody to grab a coffee or water and “don’t forget to bring your smile.”

NAMI Connection is a free recovery support group for adults (18+) living with a mental health condition. Participants gain the support of peers who understand their experience and gain insight into others’ challenges and successes. The group encourages empathy, productive discussion and a sense of community.

Call for free Family
Crisis Intervention
Families who are experiencing serious difficulties in managing the behavior of children 10 to 17 years old for whom they are responsible can seek assistance through the Atlantic County Juvenile/Family Crisis Intervention Unit (FCIU).
FCIU is a legally mandated program that is available 24 hours a day to intercede in family conflicts and help strengthen the family unit. Its services include short-term crisis stabilization, family assessment, case management, treatment planning and referrals to appropriate community-based services.
FCIU is available to meet in-person by appointment with youth and their families from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 101 Shore Road in Northfield. Appointments can also be conducted by phone or as a virtual meeting to help de-escalate and resolve family conflicts.

Free screening
for depression
Online screening for depression and postpartum depression is available at mhaac.info/screening.
The confidential screening involves 10 questions related to topics such as sleep habits, appetite, concentration and level of energy. Resources and recommendations are offered at the end of the survey.
Anyone who wants to take the screening but needs assistance can call The Mental Health Association in Atlantic County at (609) 652-3800. Staff are available throughout the year by phone or by appointment. No cost, no insurance needed.
