Rooftop deck offers view of sunrise over the ocean at Southend condominium

OCEAN CITY — Just a block from the beach, the second-floor condominium at 4522 Central Ave. in the city’s serene Southend provides the perfect home base for family and friends.

“This home presents an exceptional opportunity to own a piece of paradise in the coveted Southend of Ocean City,” listing agent Gray Haenn said. “With its prime location, modern amenities and stunning views, this condo is an idyllic coastal haven that promises a lifestyle of relaxation and serenity.”

Boasting four large bedrooms and two full bathrooms, plus a wide-open great room and multiple decks, the home has plenty of space for hosting family gatherings or parties with friends.

“This meticulously maintained residence is designed to accommodate your family and friends with ease,” Haenn said.

The home is attractive both physically and metaphysically — extensive landscaping stretches across the front, surrounded by gravel. The means there’s little to no maintenance necessary.

A steppingstone path leads down both sides to the rear.

An outdoor shower on the left allows beachgoers with sandy feet to rinse off before stepping inside, while the stairs are on the right. Out back, there is room for three cars — two in the shelter beneath the home — as well as a large storage room that provides ample space for beach gear and bikes.

Atop the stairs, a door with a leaded-glass window opens into the great room, whose ceiling slopes down toward the ocean from 15 feet above. Multiple windows — including a couple of eyebrow windows high in the west wall — and a sliding glass door add to the feeling of spaciousness, “creating an open and airy ambiance that is perfect for entertaining or simply relaxing with loved ones.”.

“From the moment you step inside, you’ll be greeted by an inviting atmosphere filled with natural light and a sense of warmth,” Haenn said. “This beautiful condo offers a harmonious blend of comfort, convenience and captivating coastal living.”

Featuring wide-plank flooring, the great room is loosely divided into a sitting room, dining area and kitchen.

The sitting area features a bow window flanked by four casement windows, allowing the cool sea breeze to flow inside. A couple of sofas are arranged around a wood-burning fireplace on the north wall and large television above.

The dining area is in the other corner, just inside the slider that opens onto the covered front porch.

“As you step out onto the front deck, take in views of the ocean and savor the gentle sea breeze,” Haenn said. “For those seeking an elevated vantage point, a private rooftop deck awaits, offering a perfect spot to witness the breathtaking sunrise or simply bask in the beauty of the surrounding area.”

The well-appointed kitchen offers ample counter space and abundant cabinetry, modern appliances and a large island with seating.

Three carpeted steps rise to the second level, where the bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry are located.

On the left, the first bedroom features wall-to-wall carpeting, bunk beds — twin atop a full to sleep three — and a spacious closet with double bi-fold doors. The second bedroom across the hall sleeps even more, with two sets of twin bunks.

The hall bathroom and laundry closet are on the left. The bathroom features a tile floor, granite-topped vanity with soft-close, self-close door and drawers and a one-piece fiberglass tub/shower with a curtain.

The final two bedrooms are in the rear and share access to the back deck.

“The rear deck provides an ideal setting to soak up the afternoon sun,” Haenn said.

The primary bedroom is on the right. It also has carpet but boasts two closets and a private bathroom with tile flooring, a dual-sink vanity and shower.

Haenn said the home is perfect for a shore house or year-round living.

“The home features modern amenities such as central air conditioning and gas heat, ensuring your comfort throughout the seasons,” he said.

Ocean City is one of the most popular shore resorts on the East Coast, featuring a 2.5-mile-long oceanfront boardwalk filled with hundreds of shopping, dining and entertainment venues, as well as miles and miles of pristine beaches. There also is an award-winning downtown business district centered on Asbury Avenue and a watersports district around Third Street on Bay Avenue.

A great location doesn’t only mean beachfront or bayfront on this 8-mile-long island — there are 10 distinct neighborhoods, each with its own characteristics. The Gardens is popular with many for its slow pace, huge beaches and winding, pedestrian-friendly streets. The Riviera, stretching from 16th to 23rd streets along Great Egg Harbor Bay, is a boater’s paradise with many Mediterranean-style homes set right on inland lagoons. The Central neighborhood is bustling with business both downtown and on the boardwalk, while the Southend is narrow with fewer homes and room to stretch out. The Northend contains many of the island’s historic homes and Merion Park, in the south, features wetlands and wildlife along with wonderful sunset views. The Goldcoast has some of the best beachfront homes on the island, while Merion Park offers beautiful sunsets over the bay and wetlands.

The Southend neighborhood, from 34th to 59th streets, is narrow with fewer homes and businesses than the center of the island, which makes it the perfect getaway.

Everything needed for a beach vacation is located on the 34th Street business corridor or scattered throughout the neighborhood at mom-and-pop shops.

The Garden State Parkway provides access just across the bridge in Upper Township, so there is no need to schlep through downtown to get there, and all of the attractions that make Ocean City America’s Greatest Family Resort are just a couple of miles away on foot or bicycle.

The property is listed for $1.275 million with Gray Haenn of Berger Realty. Call (215) 421-7609 or email grayocnj@gmail.com for more information or to set up an appointment to tour this wonderful home.
