Peter Bruce Beck, 79, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Deborah Jane Glassmoyer Beck entered into eternal rest Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

Peter was born August 2, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, one of two sons of the late Thomas Bruce Beck and Marjorie Datz Beck. Shortly after graduating from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, he joined The Lawrence-McFadden Co., a family business which started in 1875. They specialized in manufacturing premium industrial wood finish coatings. During his career, he lived in Greensboro, NC while working in their office in Highpoint. He and his family moved back to Bucks County, PA where he worked at the plant in Philadelphia. He was President and then Chairman of the Lawrence-McFadden Company, a member of the NPCA (National Paint Coating Association), chairman of the small business group of NPCA, and attended the NPCA and the NAMM shows yearly. He was considered an expert in coatings for guitars. He is known for revolutionizing the manufacturing process of coatings for guitars. After retiring as president of the company in 2009, he moved to Ocean City, NJ. During the years in NJ, he and his wife, Debbie, became involved in the ARC of Atlantic County, and their Special Olympics golf programs by coaching and playing golf with them. Peter enjoyed serving on the Board of Directors for ARC.
In 2020, he and his wife Debbie moved to Mt. Pleasant, SC to be near family. Peter enjoyed playing golf, tennis, traveling and watching his grandchildren play sports and participate in activities. He will be remembered for his work ethic, generosity, and his deep love for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Debbie of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Jennifer B. Silva (George) of Hailey, ID and Tamara B. Haight (Gerry) of Daniel Island, SC; and four grandchildren, Marc Haight, Miles Haight, Bridgette Silva, and Peter Silva.
