Pa. man, 19, charged with sexual assault in Sea Isle City

 SEA ISLE CITY – A 19-year-old Pennsylvania man was charged with sexual and aggravated assault in Sea Isle City July 27.

According to the Sea Isle City Police Department, Francis Grady, 19, of Springfield, Pa., was arrested and criminally charged on July 27, in connection with an alleged sexual assault in the early morning hours of July 24 at 33rd and the beach in Sea Isle City. 

The arrest is the result of an investigation by Sea Isle City detectives and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office. The defendant was lodged in the Cape May County Correction Center pending a detention hearing.

Grady was charged with aggravated sex assault during a commission of an aggravated assault, first degree;   aggravated assault by strangulation, second degree; and aggravated assault, second degree.

The department said the first degree crime carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in New Jersey State Prison. Second degree crimes carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in State Prison.

The defendant is presumed innocent unless or until he is proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
