Ocean City school board Q&A Nov. 1

OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City PTA will host the second annual Q&A session with this year’s candidates for the upcoming Board of Education election. Join in to hear each candidate present their platform and answer a series of questions on issues important to the community.

It will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, in the Ocean City Free Public Library’s lecture hall.

There are nine candidates seeking four open seats.

In a race for three three-year terms in the Nov. 8 election are incumbents Dr. Patrick Kane, Dr. Charles Roche and Greg Whelan and challengers Kevin Barnes, Liz Nicoletti and Catherine Panico. Voters will choose three of those candidates.

In the race for the one-year unexpired term is incumbent Ryan Leonard, who was appointed to the board in August to fill a vacancy that runs through the end of December, and challengers Dale Braun and Robin Shaffer. Voters will choose one candidate in that race.
