Ocean City, Mainland boys, girls soccer playoffs set

OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City and Mainland Regional girls soccer teams are the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds in the South East B sectional tournament.

Both teams earned byes in the first round, but are in the same bracket.

Millville (8-1) is the top seed.

Mainland (7-1) will face No. 6 Hammonton (5-3) in the quarterfinals on Nov. 18 and Ocean City (6-0-1) will host No. 7 Vineland (3-4). 

Mainland’s only loss of the season was to Ocean City in a close battle at Mainland.

The two teams could face each other in the semifinals if they will their respective quarterfinal matches.

Boys Soccer

The Ocean City boys team is the No. 3 seed in the South West D Group III sectional tournament. Mainland is the fourth seed.

The Red Raiders host No. 14) Burlington Township in the first round at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 and Mainland hosts No. 13 Highland on the other side of the bracket at 2 p.m.

Triton is the top seed on Mainland’s side of the tournament and Moorestown is the No. 2 seed heading Ocean City’s side. Quarterfinals are Nov. 17.

Ocean City, at 7-1, leads the South Division in the Cape-Atlantic League. It’s only loss is to St. Augustine Prep.

Mainland, at 7-3, is second behind Egg Harbor Township (10-1) in the East Division.
