Ocean City Community Holy Week events include Easter Sunrise Service

OCEAN CITY— All members of the community are invited to attend the Easter Sunrise Service sponsored by the Ocean City Ministerium and Ecumenical Council, in addition to the other community worship opportunities listed below:

– Easter Sunrise Service, 6:15 a.m. Sunday, April 20. Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk.

An offering will benefit the Ocean City Ecumenical Council Community Food Cupboard and Clothes Closet.

The experience of witnessing the beauty of the Easter sunrise along with the sights and sounds of the ocean make this an inspiring

event. The Easter Service has become a tradition for visitors and year-round residents of the island. Please join in. Parking is free at the city’s Eighth and Ninth street and other city parking lots.

Community Worship Opportunities

– Maundy Thursday, Services, April 17: noon, St. John Lutheran Church, 10th Street and Central Avenue; 7 p.m., St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, Eighth Street and Central Avenue.

– Good Friday Services, Friday, April 18: 10 a.m. Bilingual Way of the Cross Procession, St. Frances Cabrini Church, Second Street and Atlantic Avenue; noon, St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, Eighth Street and Central Avenue.

– Stations of the Cross, Friday, April 18: noon gather at 14th Street and the Boardwalk, proceeds to Sixth Street and Boardwalk, St. John Lutheran Church.

– Tenebrae Services, Friday, April 18: 7 p.m. St. John Lutheran Church, 10th Street and Central Avenue.
