New businesses that have opened and businesses that have renovated and expanded

OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce has been taking pains to support businesses and to let local residents and visitors know about the new things coming to town and established businesses reinvesting by renovating their stores and businesses.

Following is a sample of some of the noteworthy things that have been going on the past few months and some things that are planned in the near future:

Piccini’s Restaurant at 1260 West Ave., owned by Janet and Tony Galante, had a ribbon cutting to mark the renovation of the popular eatery.

— Dan Koch opened J. Bradley Capital, a financial services company, at 1357 Asbury Ave.

— Andrew Funk and Greg Beck expanded their Surfers Supplies, a fixture at 3101 Asbury Ave. for decades, into a second location at the Surf Mall at 11th Street and Boardwalk.

— Alicia Kalil opened Alicia’s Balloon Boutique at 648 West Ave.

— Caitlin Quirk, who owns Bowfish Kids, opened the newest downtown shop, The Garb Collection, at 1014 Asbury Ave.

The Spotted Whale at 944 Asbury Ave. reopened after a complete remodel of the upscale business that features household furnishings and decor.

Ocean City Cars & Trucks at 1120 Asbury Ave., owned by Harry Klause, underwent a substantial renovation. 

Seapark, a new sushi restaurant, opened at 803 Asbury Ave.

Holiday Coffee opened at 801 E. Eighth St.

Three Little Birds opened at 756 Asbury Ave. It features most of the books from Sun Rose Words and Music that used to occupy the entire space, but now shares space with two other retailers.

The Ocean City Board of Realtors had a grand reopening in March at its office at 405 22nd St.

— Kristin and Chad Gallagher opened SaltWorks Studio at 301 West Ave. There is a special opening at noon Friday, May 16.

— There will be a celebration for Rachel O’Brien’s True Light Yoga at 810 Asbury Ave., Suite 205, at 1:15 p.m. May 27.

Pro Image Sports will have a grand opening at 11:30 a.m. May 22 at 836 Boardwalk.

— There will be a celebration for Charlie Costello and OC Awning at noon May 22 at 1020 Asbury Ave.

— There will be a special event at noon June 19 for The Board Room at 1123 Asbury Ave., a new game store where customers can buy games and stay and play.

— The arcade at Playland’s Castaway Cove, 1020 Boardwalk, opened with the new pirate ship looking out over the boardwalk, welcoming visitors. The former arcade was destroyed by an electrical fire in January 2021. Playland also added rides and attractions for the start of the 2025 season.

The Yard, at 741 West Ave., , owned by TJ Heist of OCNJ Watersports, will be opening soon, offering aerial adventures for all ages, including a Sky Net Playground and a golf and sports simulator.

Shore to Escape opened at 768 Boardwalk featuring challenging escape rooms for families to enjoy.  

OC Haunted Hotel, from the owners of OCNJ Entertainment, opened at 822 Boardwalk this year for an exciting, spooky attraction. It is the first haunted house on the Boardwalk in 40 years.
