Nancy May Copple, 93

Nancy May Copple, age 93 of Glen Mills, PA passed away on January 14, 2025 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born to Orlando John and Margaret Beardwood May in Philadelphia, PA, she resided the past 16 years at Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA, previously residing in Jenkintown, PA and Stuart, FL .

Nancy graduated from Germantown Academy and from Mount Holyoke College Phi Beta Kappa. She raised her family in Jenkintown, PA. She was a voracious reader and loved history. Nancy had a strong faith throughout her life and was an active participant in church life, most recently as a member of the Bible By Heart team well into her 80’s, memorizing Bible passages and reciting to the Trinity Presbyterian congregation.

For many years at Maris Grove, Nancy enjoyed working at the Maris Grove TV Station, with her segment “This Day In History.” She also started a book club, played bocce & bingo, and enjoyed time spent with new friends.

Nancy’s favorite place was Ocean City, NJ where she enjoyed riding bikes, playing tennis, riding the ferris wheel, parasailing, swimming in “Mumsie’s Ocean,” and creating numerous special memories with her 4 children, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Norval H. Copple, Jr. She is survived by her children: Cynthia May Cederberg, John (Anne) Hodges-Copple, Barbara (Tom) Harris, and Sue (Greg) Crump. Mumsie’s Grandchildren: Scott (Min Liu) Cederberg, Adam Cederberg, Luke ( Emily) Cederberg, Daniel (Ally) Copple, Tom (Areli) Enriquez-Copple, Sally Hodges- Copple (Shaun Fath) Rachel (Zach) Harris- Phillips, Janet Harris, Lauren Crump, and Jenna (Ryan) Wetzel. Beloved great grandchildren: Brett, Ridge, Josie & Will Cederberg, Henry & Theo Copple, Andre Josserand & Mila Enriquez-Copple, Leon & Frances Harris- Phillips. A service will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 11:00 AM at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Wilmington, DE.
